Ahhh! My Thumbdrive got caught in the washer!

It is true I left it in my pocket (I looked in there for it but it was not there before putting it in the washer.) So do any of you think the data is intact? The Drive is a PNY Attache. Since there is some important stuff like development stuff for my popular Armogohma Suites.

If anyone wanted to when v2 of the Suites are coming out they should be out be September but I can't make guarantees.

Well, I've heard that some do, some don't . Good luck .

Mine survived the washer

My cheap Viking 2GB flash drive survived the washer although until dried in the airing cupboard for a week was prone to crashing.

I've heard of socks

I've heard of socks teleporting out of the Washer, leaving it's partner, but this is the first time I've heard of a thumbdrive teleporting into the washer!

Good luck!

I can't speak for the PNT

I can't speak for the PNT Attache, but for future reference I would recomend either Corsair Flash Voyager GT or ATP ToughDrive.
Both have been tested to withstand "extreme" usage.
The tough drive was actually put in a sandwich bag full of water, frozen, then thawed and still worked without issue.

Yeah, I want an 8 B GT Voyager

Maybe I could ask for one 4 my Birthday (a Laptop has the Christmas time-peroid occupied).

The PNY Attaches really suck (they are a bit fragile).

Me 2

Got one a while back and have not looked back since -- abandoned a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium u3 2Gb. Fast, really fast. 8 Gb! How many movies is this? Love the form factor of the Titanium U3, but love the speed and space of the Corsair GT more.

Yabbut....

... I bet the frozen water did not include laundry detergent and the ever popular "agitator action" (not to mention the dreaded "spin cycle"!...).

Rinse the connector head

Rinse the connector head thoroughly with distilled water (no soap/detergent!) and let it dry. Should be fine.

Should work fine...

Mine has been through the wash twice (rundisk 1gb) and it still works fine.
A mates one has been through the wash heaps, still works fine, but recently its speed has dropped to 1/10 of normal, so i think its dying.
