I noticed Dev-C++ is no longer here. Why?
I also noticed there is a command prompt portable app. That is interesting, but I already wrote one for myself, thinking I would be one of the few who would want such a thing.
Actually, it is only a C program which calls a batch file, with my desired settings, TITLE, DOSKEY's and PATH.
Dev C++ was never hosted here. There may have been a link to another site, but nothing more than that.

Why is the link gone?
(I ask mainly because I often refer people to this site, and now am wary of pointing people to this sites for certain apps)
He means someone may have mentioned it in the forums when he said "linked to another site". So someone, somewhere, at some time may have put together a package of it, but it wasn't included in the PortableApps.com Directory.
PortableApps.com has not yet published a portable package of Dev C++.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
The link was never very prominent, it was in a forum topic. It's most likely still buried somewhere in the forums, or if it was referring to the PortaSoft site, that site no longer exists.

You can download it from Sourceforge. Search for devcpp-portable.

Maybe John can do a portable version of Dev-C++

What for? Why should he waste his time on making something that exists already?

He has done it in the past
