Search utility that supports OOo formats (odt, odg, etc.)

Apologies if this has been asked and answered, but I've spent half an hour trying different search strings and can't find anything relevant....

What I'm looking for is a file search utility that will search inside OpenOffice files. I thought FileSeeker would do it, but it doesn't (sure wish it did, though! I like that program)... and of course, the utility needs to run portably. I thought I'd ask this forum because it doesn't appear that there are any search utilities in the Applications list.

I'd be deeply grateful for any suggestions!

[EDIT] Oops, sorry--I meant to mention it needs to run on Win2K and WinXP.

Umm ok

I don't see how this belongs in the beta testing forum though. Smile

Only because such a tool isn't listed...

... in the officially supported applications. I thought it might be possible that someone is testing such a tool.

But now I guess it's a moot question, because I persisted in my searches and finally, finally found an answer! I've added o3find to my USB key, and because it's available as a simple executable in a zip file that you can extract to any folder, it works like a charm:

cool beans, it's open source

cool beans, it's open source too Smile I have no need for it right now, but it's a great find and I'm sure it will come in handy eventually.

A quick search also found:
http://www.danielnaber.de/loook/ currently just the python script is available, it has not been compiled

Only reason why I asked why

Only reason why I asked why was it posted here is because applications that have been requested and or released for testing are in the Beta Testing Forum...

Was only stating this would better situated in the Request an App Forum is all.

Except...

... that those would just be wish-list items in the Request App forum... right? I wondered about anything actually being tested because those would be known to run portably (at least to some degree) rather than just being pined after. Smile

But I understand your point, which is a good one, and appreciate your taking time to reply.

Cheers!
