Cannot install extentions

Subj
When i try to install them, they are downloaded and installed as always. It is written, that they would be installed after i restart Firefox. Try to guess, what happens when i restart Firefox. Nothing. "*** will be installed after you restart Firefox". If i try to install the extention again - "*** will be upgraded after you restart Firefox".
what should i do? tnx

save the xpi files to your disk

Save the xpi files to your disk (right-click, save link as) then do a File > Open in firefox and open the xpi file (extension).

That isn't his problem

That isn't his problem.

Do the usual... Fresh install of Firefox, don't do ANYTHING to it. Don't keep your old profile -- do a FULL reinstall...

Where is the Flash

I have been using Portable Apps for a few months now and can’t imagine being without them. One small problem; one of the computers I plug into does not have any version of flash and only an old java script. I have tried adding these to my Portable Fire fox without any luck, am I doing something wrong or does flash / Java have to be on the host computer?

Flash is pretty easy

Use a standard Flash installer on your home PC with the portable device connected and point it to that browser (PortableFirefox\firefox). Or use the instructions in the support section:

https://portableapps.com/support/portable_firefox#plugins

Java won't work right now unless it is fully installed on the local machine. So, there at least, you're out of luck.

Flash Works

Thanks, sorry about not doing my homework first. Everything works great now, do miss java a bit though, oh well it's worth the trade off.

I am having a similar

I am having a similar problem with extensions. Everything started off fine, but now my new extensions - I'm talking, in particular, about FoxyTunes and DownloadWith - have started sitting in the extension list with the promise that they will be installed when firefox is restarted. But then they aren't.

Surely a fresh install is not the only answer? Dump the old profile and reinstall all your extensions? What about the bookmarks etc?

Of course, if it is the only answer then so be it...

One may use hardcoded paths

One of those may use hardcoded paths. Perhaps that is the issue. Try a base install and install one extension... restart... test... then the other. If that's the case, your extensions may be a bit hung up.
