Why do I get solid black when I print my SVG graphic from my browser?

Hi All;

I have developed an application using PortableFirefox browser. This application contains several HTML files and a few SVG graphic files, displayed via HTML. The SVG graphic displays correctly, but prints solid black from my PortableFirefox browser. However, it prints very well from IE browser. In fact, even the HTML that embeds my SVG graphic displayed and printed correctly from IE.

Question 1: Does anyone know why my SVG graphics display correctly in my PortableFirefox application, but when printed, it just prints as a solid black area?

Question 2: WHY would the HTML file that embeds the SVG graphics NOT display at all on Firefox browser? Yes I am running the latest SVG viewer 6.0 version. Although I did not see its presence in "About:Config"

This was not a problem at all with IE browser. I was able to view the graphics and printed it perfectly in IE browser?

I am using the latest version of Firefox (1.5.0.1) and have the latest SVG viewer 6.0. Yes, my SVG file references a CSS file

Has anyone come across this problem before or can point me in the right direction on how to resolve it? All help would be graetly appreciated.

Thanks, phillyboy.

Try local FF

Try it with a local copy of FF. If it has the same issue, then it isn't a PFF-specific problem. In that case, check out buzilla and see if there are known issues with SVG and printing and follow up with posts on mozillaZine, the official FF support forums.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I did, and couldn't even display it

That's my Question 2. I did. My application (using PFF browser), displays the SVG file. However, my local FF browser does NOT even display it (the SVG file is embedded into the application using HTML's "embed" tag). IE, on the other hand, had no problem at all.

PFF does a better job than local FF in this case (believe it or not), but just can't print it correctly. Although I had to embed it within my application by.

Why can I NOT see my downloaded SVG viewer plugin in FF's about:config?

I know it's on my machine because IE is using it to display and print the file correctly.

Am I the only one or the first one having this problem? Does Firefox browser support SVG at all?

In the mean time I will continue to check out any known issues with SVG.

Thanks.
