Sorry if it's already covered and my search was not very deep, but I need to understand if running from a CD (readonly file system) means that in any case the files are copied to a TEMP directory. If so, is there any way to run it from the CD for just reading the email? I think it's not useful to wait until 700MB of profile is copied into $TEMP.
am I wrong?
thanks,
a.
Its not possible cause Thunderbird needs to write to its folder.

so the "RunLocally" parameter is there just to avoid the "you are running from a readonly..blablabla..do you want to copy to TEMP.." ??
So it's just hiding the copying process..
but does TB need the whole profile directory or just some files?
thanks
It has to. There's no way around it. Live mode is really only made for demoing it to others. You want it portable to actually use, put it on a flash drive.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Has the same problem, but with Gigs of Data to look for.
Is there a way to cheat TB with a sandbox-like thing?
Or Just 'mount' the dvd in the temporary directory and let TB just write the differences!?
TIA!
