I dont think so

U3 is proprietary and Linux is kind of the opposite (opensource) so I think they wouldnt work well together.

Until PortableApps does it.....

....you can always use DSL. (Damn Small Linux) They have a bootable and "live" version specifially for USB drives.

http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/download.html

They also have a prepackaed version that ships on a USB drive.

Done, but...

I think I've mentioned, I have DSL packaged in PortableApps.com Format with data in the right place and a launcher and installer and all the goodies... BUT... QEMU on Windows is NOT open source, so I can't host it on SourceForge. It's a 50+MB download and will eat up a lot of bandwidth once it's released.

Nah

Nothing officially supported and released here will ever just be a launcher. Making people assemble things themselves just feels so half-assed.

The only part

The only part you say that isn't open-source is the fmod.dll right. Well qemu doesn't have to use that. With a certain command you can make it use sdl instead

Try puppy linux. It's a live CD that can be written too just as a hard drive can and it's installable to a usb drive.

well i don't know why i do it (scrambled email addresses)but i saw people doing it so i did. And i also think i will be moving to freespaces. more bandwidth than yahoo geocities.
and as u said "i dont know if it will work (cause i have the free version)" so asked them (freespaces) if they will allow it. I am just awaiting a response.

search websites and then they pick up your email address and send spam to it! and i dont use freespaces for hosting, they dont allow it directly. i use mediamax.com and post the links on my website.

bolth mediafire and mediamax....

allow you to host. and they are bolth free, mediafire is better thogh because of the unlimited storage. and mediamax beats that jumba whateversite as well. not to mention that bolth mediamax and mediafire have more than 5g storage more than 20g bandwith and it is all free!!

thanks for the offer ryan but ill stick with my hosting site(s).

Trust me, Mediamax doesn't beat it. It's $10. I can count that on 2 hands! Blum

you know this really sucks. The forum is straying on side points and John is just ignoring us or he is really busy and has not come across this post yet. Don't get me wrong i am not rushing him but at least lets talk on the topic. The talk was going nice but i don't think it follows forum rules.

OK

As we all know John is a VERY VERY VERY busy person. And besides John won;t support U3 anymore (Hallelujah, another distraction out of the way).

Well

I think we need to move from this post. There was a request for linux on u3 but i don't give ah .... about u3 i just want the the one he say's he made for PAM.
The word U3 on the topic must be kepping him away. And when i said stick to the topic
i did not mean U3 linux (sorry about the misunderstanding) I meant John sending us his PAM DSL and we hosting it for him.
