Firefox cannont find server at school

At my school when I use FireFox portable, it won't find the page it just says: "Server cannot be found, check the URL...ect." It works fine on my computer, but I think its my school's settings for the internet. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Proxy

It is probably a proxy setting. Check and see how IE is setup under Internet Options. Then set them the same in FF. Tools>Options>Advanced>Connections>Settings.

There is also an extension that helps you switch proxies easily. http://mozmonkey.com/switchproxy/

Use the "Proxy Get " utility

It´s hosted on this site (search button is above on the right). install it and start it . It will show you the proxy settings. Then go on as above. Use proxy switch firefox addon to change the settings more comfortably.

Yeah it is probably a filtering proxy.

Open IE, and hit Internet Options, hit the connections tab and hit the button at the bottom and oprn notepad, copy and paste the proxy and port values 2 notepad.
Then in FFP goto options and hit the button next to the phrase (its somethin like) choose how FF connects 2 the Internet. And paste the values in and enjoy.

As all of ya should know Micro$oft is the Evil Empire, and Windows (a.k.a. Winblows or Windoze) is their greatest general, so please make a difference and install Linux or FreeBSD on yer Windows comp.
