Is there anyway I can run (concurrently) a copy of Portable Firefox (any version) and also run Mozilla* Firefox (any version) together in the same session?
For instance, right now I have Portable Firefox v1.07 loaded. I want to load up Mozilla Firefox v1.5. When I click on the icon for Mozilla Firefox v1.5, it just loads up another window of Portable Firefox v1.07 instead.
1) What gives?
2) Does this have to do with having the same window title (name)? If so, back then sometime long ago, I ran across some sort of extension which generated a random window title upon startup, but I can not seem to find it. Anyone know what I am talking about?
Basically I would like them to be separate processes so if one crashes due to some vigilante web site, then I would still have another window up. In any case, the extension 'Session Saver' only protects data on one window. If you load up two windows, and then have several tabs loaded in each, if Firefox crashes, your only able to automatically recover one of those session. Which one you ask? I think it is pretty random.

Mozilla Firefox refers to a standard version downloaded from mozilla, and has been installed via the installer binary.

It has to do with how windows manages the processes.
I don't think there is any way around it either.

Firefox works that way by default... only allowing a single instance of itself. It has nothing to do with Windows. The 1.5 launcher checks for this and just pops up a message telling you so.
You can allow multiple instances with a custom INI which sets a specific setting to allow Firefox to run multiple instances. Check the readme.txt within PortableFirefoxCode to learn how to do it.

Cool thanks. The odd part is, it does not tell me at all that I have another 'instance' of it running, it just opens up another window as if I requested that. I'll give the .ini polygamy edit a try
Instance checking debuted in Portable Firefox 1.5. It works much better than PFF 1.0.
