I and a friend (and maybe later a group of people) plan to use network device. Some online storage such as (s)ftp or ssh. This ftp drive will be mounted into windows explorer (with ftpdrive, sftpdrive or netdrive or just with the windows explorer build in function).
Purpose? We want to share a calendar (either the hole Sunbird on that device or just the profile folder), some source code files, documents and stuff like that.
It`s important that no one can do a man in the middle attack to read our data and it`s also important that the server who is running the network device can not spy on our data. Because of that we want to encrypt the drive with, could TrueCrypt be used for this job?
Can you tell me how much portableapps would work for in this environment?
Anyone experience with that kind of folder sharing?
...and it`s also important that the server who is running the network device can not spy on our data.
Can you explain that part again? Who or what exactly are you worried about spying on you?

Probably better asking this on the truecrypt forum
I just don`t want that the admin on that server can not read my data. That`s the technical explanation.
I hope you don`t want to know my philosophical reasons why I am interested in encrypting data. That`s really offtopic and no one needs exculpation.
Not a PortableApps issue. Better to go to the truecrypt web site and ask them how to use it like you want. Seems an easier solution would be to encrypt the individual files involved and share the decrypt key with your freinds.
