In the spirit of SmithTech's smart move, I've decided that we should a windows theming topic.

This is the best dark theme I have seen. It has a nicely crafted start button and a sudo-vista feel that is not too overbearing.

download - points to full start menu instead of the compact shown in preview *ugh*

I use a flavour of Royale (Windows Media Center style) called RoyalFour. I use the Blue version with the green Start button.

I love NeoRame's PortableApps Theme. Really cool if we could get a theme switcher ;). I also like Flyakite OSX. Also there is Ubuntu Human Theme. I think that's it .

I just started using visual styles (instead of winblowblinds), and right now, I like ECNMY07

I use the Vista Inspirat both at work and home. I was also using the FlyAKite, but got tired of it.

If you want a really good Vista Theme then try this pack:

or if you'd prefer to only install the theme:

It's really good IMHO!

and a couple others. they make xp have the vista's aero glass & transparencies.
i think that VTP V.7.0 does this, 6.0 didnt support transparencies.

Not entirely correct i'm afraid: VTP 7.0 itself doesn't support transparency. It includes however some tools to make your windows transparent. The best tool isn't included IMHO (at the moment). It's called TrueTransparency and it's not a memory hog like many other tools like FastAero, Vystal and many others. Google for them to get the links

if you check here, they say and show that VTP7.0 has transparencies compatability and that they built in an error message if you dont have "windows blinds'" installed. the windows blinds program allowed you to have the transparencies in v6.0 but they are improved in v 7.0

I tried your Vista Transformation Pack, but when I try to install it, it shows a message, something about a windows hotfix (kb925902), and it points me to a forum topic which has a guide on fixing the problem. I go to the web page and it gives me two options: one is to get rid of kb925902 and the second is to install Vista Inspirat (which is what I already had). I'm guessing that the one you suggested is the same (or a previous version) of the one I'm using.

VTP is not the same as Vista Inspirat nor are the authors the same. I don't know why they direct you to Vista Inspirat though. I guess they don't run a competition between each other!

to un install that hotfix because it doesent allow some of the programs to run right. and i havent mentioned vista insperat but i might have to get that because my computer wont let me upgrade to VTP7. i want to get the fast aero software!!
