Miranda: Profile can not be altered? Doesn't keep settings...

Hi everybody, i could use some help with the following problem:

I installed Miranda IM Portable, it works perfectly, with all Plugins, but:
It doesn't store any settings in the profile.dat. My Message History should go there as well as informations about read RSS feeds and so on.

Seems like Miranda just refuses to write that profile.dat even though it isn't write-protected...
Any ideas?

sorry

it stores nothing? no icq number, no contacts, no preferences?

if so, try to delete or move the .dat-file out of the directory, and miranda will ask you to create a new database... maybe it works...

but if forgets only your history, it could be a configuration error... which chat-plugin do you use? srmm, tabsrmm or scriver?

Apps on my Portable Device:
Miranda, Firefox, Sunbird, Thunderbird, 7-Zip, FileZilla, GIMP, OOo, Sodoku and VLC

German User, Sorry for my bad english, I do my really really best Smile

Nope, only new stuff...

I imported stuff like this along with my profile, contacts, ICQ number, the history up to that moment and so on.
But it doesn't store anything new from its time running on the usb stick.
I use tabsrmm and it works fine on my normal Miranda. Could that interfere with the portable version?

Just figured some solution out:

I've altered the ProfileDir in mirandaboot.ini and copied my profile right in the actual program folder. Now it works. But it seems i don't need the folders 'data' any more?

same problem

I got the same problem but in a different way.

I created a fresh installtion of PortableMiranda changed the programm files to 0.7 and created a new profile. ALL FINE to this point.

Then I wanted to remove the splashscreen at startup.
So I copied MirandaPortable.ini (.\Other\MirandaPortableSource\MirandaPortable.ini) to the folder where MirandaPortable.exe is located and changed DisableSplashScreen=false to DisableSplashScreen=true

Spashscreen is gone but from now on it doesnt accept any new settings as Elchfaenger described.

So... I need a solution to get rid of the splashscreen and still be able to change a setting and be sure it isn´t gone after the next programm start :|

BUG?
