MoinMoin Portable Beta1 (Testers Needed)

Heres MoinMoin Portable, it is MoinMoin packaged as a portable app so you can play with your desktop wiki on the go.

For users new to MoinMoin, after you start it up you have to redirect your browser to http://localhost:8080 in order to play with your wiki.

Yes I know MM is already portable but this makes MoinMoin fully compatible with the PortableApps Platform.

Download MoinMoin Portable (4MB Download): https://downloads.sourceforge.net/armogohmasuites/MoinMoin_Portable_1.5....
(May take a few mins to hit all servers)

To do:

-Make an option in the launcher to remove the wiki folder in App\moinmoin so users that backup with Paaps Backup along with the App Data option can retain their settings and wiki w/o having to manually delete the wiki folder.

-Have the launcher check for Firefox Portable Edition on the device, and have the launcher open up FFPE and have it goto http://localhost:8080, if FFPE is on the device that is.

Just for you Espreon,

Edit: Alright, sorry for the late reply. I tested it out. Settings seem to move fine, have looked into it too much.

An idea I had was to have the launcher check to see if Firefox Portable is installed on the same drive as MoinMoinDE Portable. If it is, it would edit the local homepage for that session, and launch Firefox Portable with the page http://localhost:8080. Sound good. I could work on it with you if you wanted.

Huh?

Make an option in the launcher to remove the wiki folder in App\moinmoin so users that backup with Paaps Backup along with the App Data option can retain their settings and wiki w/o having to manually delete the wiki folder.

Why would you wanna delete the program directory? The settings are copied to the settings folder when not running, so they should work absolutely fine with the backup. What's the problem, I don't understand.

- Add a space after the pipe

- Add a space after the pipe character on line 69 in installer.nsi

- help.html file missing from root of portable app.

- UPX the files in the /App/moinmoin directory.

- All the language files are only stored in zip files with no compression. Recompress them using "maximum compression".

- Combine all files in the two directories in \MoinMoinPortable\Other\ into \MoinMoinPortable\Other\Source (See DOSBoxPortable directory structure for an example of what I mean).

Whoo!

Now I'm not the only picky one, yes!

Edit: HAHAHAHA!

- Add a space after the pipe character on line 69 in installer.nsi Nice, very nice. I would have said the same. Truly awesome.

I wasn't done yet...

In appinfo.ini, I don't think the following is allowed:

PackageVersion=1.5.5a.0

I'm guessing it needs to be all numbers like in the installer.nsi

It's not being "picky"...it's about being "correct". Wink

Yes

Being picky in order to make them correct. Blum

Espreon, there should be no spaces in the Splash Name, and Icon Name, and any directory or file name for that matter.

Quit responding so fast!

I need to edit my posts...

continuation...

If I was picky I'd tell him to come up with a new slogan for his suites since having two words with "your" in it makes it sound clunky. Needs work. Ok, NOW I'm being picky. Biggrin

help.html too MUCH!

I am not going to learn HTML, plus I am going to have documentary in my wiki and my upcoming Support App.

Plus the UPXing, and the re-zipping and other stuff is coming VERY soon, I just wanted to get this up.

As for you HSP, I thought the Rename command could only succeed when the destination folder name does not exist, if I am incorrect I guess EclipseNSIS was lying to me...

Also I was planning to implement your requested feature, before you posted the request.

But I want to know if the app functions alright.

Thanks Patrick

but I am not doing a help.html file, maybe a help.txt file, as NotePad is lighter on the resources.

Okay

But if you want it official, using a help.html gets you one step closer. I can do it if you want.
