Anyone know how to update the Firefox Portable installer to v2.0.0.7 before installing it to my flash drive?

You SHOULD be able to install FFPE v2.0.0.6 and then check for updates. It SHOULD update itself.

that you have enough free space on your drive (at least 40mb).

When I try to update Firefox, it goes through the download, then says it will be updated next time Firefox starts. I tell it to restart Firefox. It closes Firefox, then gives me an error that says it was unable to install updates and it will try a full download of Firefox. I have not tried that yet because I don't know what if the full download will work as a portable app.
You can do the full download as it will still stay portable.

There's a *slight* problem with the full download method. Since the full download is basically a silent installer, it does not understand it's being run portably, and will update/create(?) the FF registry entries (app path, uninstall path, and a bunch of other) to point to the portable install it's updating. If this is done on a computer that already has FF installed locally, it will *break* the FF installation.
This has happened to me on 3 different PCs. You can fix it by search/replace in the registry to correct the paths.
The best way to do this might be either on a PC with no local install of FF, or with something like Returnil running so the local PC isn't modified.
both on ff and tb portable, I decided to download the full update version and they entered registry as seperate applications. As long as you don´t set the portable versions as standard nothing will happen except that there are two profiles in the existing profile folders on Your local machine. The advantage is that your full versions won´t have any problems with incremental updates. Disadvantage : you´d have to unplug your drive first and then "uninstall" i.e deregister the portable versions via windows /system/software.The registered portable versions haven´t kept the ff or tb icon and can easily be detected. The "portableapp" profiles can be deleted in the corresponding folders but you should make a BACKUP before deleting them. Then your portableapps are fully portable again and You can plugin your drive anew.
If there are further problems after the procedure it can depend on contributions, file paths that are set to your portable instead of to your default app. Then you´d think over reinstalling your local apps (that problem I had on one machine where portable tb was set as default by accident).
so in short : as it is said above , there should be no problems running two different ff or tb side by side wether portable or not. As long as You don´t try to run them both at the same time or change the default setting either.

Lets hope John has something up his sleeve for this as it would mean that auto-update wouldnt be portable
