I'm using portable version 1.5.0.10 and just got an update notice for version 1.5.0.13. A check on the Portable Apps web site has no version 1.5.0.x on it, let alone the 1.5.0.13.
It's not clear to me, if I can update online or must update via a portableapps download. If the latter, is there somewhere to get the portable version?
Thanks, Emil...
You can let it auto-update. But you're *FAR* better off upgrading to 2.0. Version 1.5 is being officially dropped (no support, no more bug or security fixes at all) in 19 days.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I, too, having this interests to know if we could use the built-in update.
There are reasons that I had to stick with version 1.5 series.
1. I found that version 1.5 works better with the IMAP protocol with my server.
Thunderbird v2 however gives me much headaches with server command error or time out errors.
2. Version 1.5 seems faster with all the plugins I have loaded with.
3. one plugin that I must use only support v1.5
So, How do we get this Thunderbird 1.5.0.13 Portable?
You don't. Per that last post by John it looks like Mozilla is stopping the support of that version. You're now on your own.
The REAL source of your problem is your server. If there was an issue with the IMAP protocol across the board for multiple TBird users, more people would be having the issue. I'd spend your time/effort on getting the server mail software fixed rather than an email client version that's now "dead".

I suggest you fix the REAL problem which is your server. If there was an issue with TBird and the IMAP protocol, more people would be having the issue and to my knowledge, that's not happening. I's put my time/effort into getting the mail server software fixed and therefore eliminate the problem at the source rather than work around it on the other end with an email client that is in effect, "dead".
