Hi,
Ok I've got signature switch working with the %ProfD% variable, but is it possible to use something similar in my HTML to find the images I want to embed ?
Cheers

In the next release of Thunderbird Portable, this will all be automatic as it now is in Firefox Portable (it updates your prefs.js for you on each launch).

Sorry John, don't understand you.
How do you mean automatic ?
On my pc I have two images I currently embed into my signature using html. I want to do the same thing with my memory stick.
i.e
img border="0" src="file:///c:\Signature%20Files\reclaimyourinbox_small.png"
I need to replace the "c:" bit above with something that will reflect the drive letter of my memory stick, whatever it may be.
No, you don't need to replace that yourself. The launcher will automatically adjust the path in your prefs.js file for you as you move from PC to PC as long as the image is on the same portable drive as your Thunderbird Portable is. It does this in Firefox Portable 2.0.0.8 for similar paths (used by some GreaseMonkey scripts, CSS skins for Sage, etc). It's a similar method.

Ah, sounds good. Bet it's not going to be released for ages then.
The code is already done. If Mozilla does a Thunderbird 2.0.0.x release, it'll be part of that. Otherwise, it'll get released just before the new menu as an update so TB is using the new installer and launcher.

Hi John
Getting confused.
If the code is already done, what do I have to do to get it to work ?
Or am I misunderstanding something.
If I leave my HTML code in the signature file as "C:" it can't find the images. If I change it to "E:" at work it works. But at home it would be "I:"
I want to try to avoid having to change every time I move.
Apologies if I'm being dense John
He finished it. It is just not released. (Wait for the next version.)

Sorry what are talking about ? Signature Switch, Thunderbird or Portable Apps menu ?
(Thanks for patientce, I feel I am being dense on this)
The updating of prefs.js to adjust the drive letter is handled by John's launcher, not by Thunderbird itself. John has the launcher updated to the newest release, he's just waiting until Thunderbird 2.0.x.x gets released, or until he releases his new menu. When he releases the menu, he will roll out updated launchers/installers for many other apps as well.

At last the light has dawned.
So is it in Johns 1.1 beta version that is available ?
Thanks
The menu has no effect on Thunderbird Portable. The menu is completely separate. John just plans on updating the launchers for the apps at the same time that he releases the new menu.
