I'm looking for a free/open source (not necessarily portable) app to create/edit Crystal Reports. Does anyone have any ideas or links? I need something for work, but they ain't gonna pay for anything, cheap bums. Thanks in advance!

We need some clarification. I'm guessing you need Open Source software to create reports, not Crystal Reports. Only Crystal reports outputs in Crystal Reports format.
I did some searches for you and it it got me to thinking...if you're going to *create* reports...then you must own the data. If you own the data, why create crystal Reports at all. Use one of the other OSS programs to build your own reports in a non-proprietary format like HTML, PDF, or whatever..
There may be a reason to create Crystal Reports (specifically) like a viewer of some sort on the user's end that I don't know about so you may *need* to output in Crystyal Reportsd format. If not, and you just need "reports", try:

Well I've got an inventory app that we use here at work called MobileAsset by Wasp Technologies. It's just one workstation that has it, and uses MSSQL for the database. It came with a set of default reports all in Crystal Reports format. Of course it doesn't have an editor.
I was hoping I'd be able to find a way to just edit the existing reports the way I wish, and to see how they link to the database (I've never really done this before so I was hoping to shortcut the learning curve a bit).
Otherwise your idea of creating my own reports in an open format is my only option. I haven't checked those links yet, but I'll assume there's a way to open the SQL database to see what's going on to correctly link the report data?
