One day Miranda broke down - I don't know why. I was chatting with my friend and once Miranda didn't receive message from Andrzej. So I closed the window, waiting for next message from him. I saw he sent me sth then read it. I continued writing... Ane the same problem - I didn't receive message - but window was blinkin'!
Unfortunately, that problem affects everyone from my list.
System: Win XP Pro
Protocol: Gadu-gadu (polish messenger)

Sounds like a problem with the application itself, not the fact that it's portable.
Post that info in the Miranda forums or report the "bug" to them.

I'm not sure that is the problem with application - year ago I had problem with Thunderbird Portable... It didn't work too

Try run vanillia Miranda, without the portable launcher wrapper (I mean the .ZIP package from miranda-im.org). If your problem persists, look at the official Miranda support forums for help. If not, than the wrapper has some bug - personally, I don't think so.
