Tips & Tricks - Speed up your Open Office

This was taken from here:
http://pclosmag.com/html/Issues/200711/tips.html

Start Open Office and click on Tools > Options. This should open the configuration. Click on Memory in the left menu and change the following settings:

Number of Steps: 30
Use for Open Office: 128
Memory per Object: 20
Number of Objects: 20

And how to disable java, which I don't recommend for the portableapps install.

I did it, and it works.

It seems to open faster(that could be cause I opened it twice in a row tho), and it scrolls large documents smoothly, even with graphics.

Seems to help!

Although you may want to choose different settings based on your usage and hardware.
"Number of Steps" is the number of Undo steps, and while few people go back even as many as 30, you may want more.
"Use for OpenOffice" and "Memory per Object": is this how much RAM, or is this a disk cache? You may want to use higher or lower settings based on your machine and how many apps you typically have open at any one time.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Thanks

I didn't know what those things do, other than play with memory settings. But they did make it faster, for me at least.

Have an Awesome Day!
