Just setup Firefox Portable on a new 16GB USB Flash Drive in the F:\FirefoxPortable folder as default.
Copied the F:\FirefoxPortable\Other\Source\FirefoxPortable.ini to F:\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.ini and set AllowMultipleInstances=true. This is required for me since the different systems I'll be using typically already have a heavily running local Firefox process running already and cant be closed. This is now working nicely and both processes run fine.
Now I need to set my Default Home Page to the index.html file placed in the disks root directory f:\index.html (F: on my home desktop). This seems to work when used like file:///F:/index.html in the browser. The problem is that this flash disk will be used in a number of different systems over the next year (documenting a '68 Mustang restoration W00t!) and of course the Drive letter F will change from one system to another.
Is there any way to have the default home page load a local html file like ../../index.html without having to call the drive letter?
Ohh.. the reason for this is the index.html file is a tiddlywiki allowing me to constantly update the index.html (entire site) file as the restoration progresses.

Just set it as usual. The launcher handles the rest, updating the path as you switch PCs. This feature was introduced in Firefox Portable 2.0.0.8.

I must say it's a great feature, before this I had to compile a new launcher with my custom homepage set in!
Well, you could have just used the INI before since LocalHomepage= has been around for a while.

No, it didn't support using multiple pages. That's why I created the feature in 2.0.0.8. Figured some folks could use it.

Thanks John. I set the default home page and swapped it from my desktop to my 2 laptops having it mount as F, E and I. Every time FF opened it would load the index page correctly regardless of the drive letter I used in the settings. Many thanks!
I just tried this and at first I thought it was because I didn't have the version of portable firefox mentioned. After upgrading to 2.0.0.11 I am still unable to get a local file to open as my home page.
I just tried a simple file and it didn't work. Any thoughts?
1. Be sure you upgraded to the current Firefox Portable installer and everything (allowing Firefox itself to update isn't enough). The launcher (FirefoxPortable.exe) should be version 1.5.2.0.
2. Be sure your copy of Firefox Portable and the local homepage are on the same drive. That's the only way it works.
