Anyone have any insight into why Win2k access speeds are so much faster than WinXP Pro? I've noticed this on 3 different drives running ThunderbirdPortable. Is there any way to tweak XP to act like Win2k? There are noticable delays (e.g., click on a message, pause, preview comes up in the pane, etc.) when using TP on WinXP that are not noticable at all on Win2k. Defragmenting helps, but doesn't fully do the trick. Obviously, a WinXP 'problem' not PortableApps, but I thought folks here might have a trick or two to get around it.
Thanks, Russell
Just shows you that usually, the more features there are (usually unnecessary features), the slower the OS. Especially WinVista.

do you have any data to back that up with regards to USB speeds, infact I would say that my Windows Vista seems faster than my WIN XP one.
Do you know how many WinVista flaws people pointed out in the last few months?!
