Sorry JJ, I don't even know of a non-portable PDF editor (which is open source, of-course).
I know the software development company Foxit do a portable PDF viewer, and that they also make PDF editors (for a fee), but I don't know if it is portable.
Let me know if you find any open source PDF Editors.

dunno if this is useful info or not?
I can't believe it, an open-source PDF editor, amazing
It may be for Linux/UNIX OS at the moment, but I'm sure its possible to port the code to Windows. The developers have done the right thing in seperating the core of the app from the GUI, all it needs now is for a Windows GUI version to be developed.
Watch and wait guys

Personally, I'm holding out for a portable PDF app that will display multiple docs in different tabs (MDI interface).
I use Foxit currently, but they have been promising MDI interface for over a YEAR now, and so far no joy.
This app referenced by 'granny' is promising, but no Windows version as yet.
Frustrating.
Hey - while I'm on the topic, does anyone know of any patch or whatever to allow OpenOffice to display stuff in an MDI interface?... My searches for such a thing thus far have yielded squat....
Anyone?...

I was thinking about OpenOffice and how sweet that would be the other day.

The current dev build of inkscape can import pdfs and edit them. I believe it is portable, but have not tested to see if any reg files or app data is left. This would be nice to have when it hits a stable release.

He has some pretty good pdf utilities. I'm using GUI for PDFTK on my thumb drive but I don't remember where I downloaded it from. Sorry.
