Would people stop calling it "Windoze"? That's so childish.
Would you prefer Winblows? That is certainly an option

That's even more childish.
Windoze because you have to wait and you fall asleep opening stuff.
Woot! See Instant FileZilla!

Or we could call it WinRapeyourwalletWomenandLand. But... really microsoft (pardon the profanity) has done alot for this world... like the time they.... umm...
...made crappy software so that all the open-source programs could become popular and take over the worl--err, internet?
In truth, Microsoft knows how to design a good interface (for the most part--we'll ignore Excel's odd behavior regarding the close button), but beyond that, they're a lost cause. I don't mind using Windows, though.
Oh for the simple elegance of a Mac...;)
Mac is great, but I seriously wish Apple would stop being so arrogant and just let everyone run the Intel x86 version of OS X on any x86 PC. They're letting people run Windows on a Mac now... why not Mac on a Wind--err, x86?
lol, agreed!
Someone has a pretty big wad of cash in Mac's pocket. I'll let you guess Anyhow I'll use winrapeyourwalletwomenandland for now just when I need to (play games mostly) but i am ready for the revolution! Smile as the city burns.
Ah, the eternal debate! This isn't the place for it but let me comment briefly.
Macs _are_ great, I have friends who will use nothing else. But they're d*mned expensive (I know, I know you pay for quality)
My WindowsXP Pro install was majorly cracked in late March, despite a half a dozen firewall, anti-virus, and malware prevention & removal software installed thereon. In spite of two clean reinstalls it still gets hijacked (all protection software disabled) as soon as I go online. So its no longer allowed online, period.
Meanwhile my PCLinuxOS dual boot install on a second hard drive has remained serenely untouched - as far as I can tell. 'Nuff said!

I miss the Amiga Workbench!
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
Hmm, interesting. I put a piece on Portable Firefox in the Firefox entry some time ago (e.g. when we were still using the Mozillazine forums!)

The longest thread ever.
Miss that one.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I think that we need a memorial. It's a shame that its no longer used, maybe you could do a homepage link to show the history of portableapps.com.

So are those apps really portable under portableapps.com's standard?
Touch nothing of the computer except the flash drive?
