I have wanted for some time to be able to start portableapps automaticaly upon the insertion of my flash drive like U3 does.
So I did a search, and this is what I came up with.(http://www.mcgrewsecurity.com/research/hackingU3/)
I'm not into hacking but it did work for me.
I can autorun .exe files in the iso partition just fine, but I'm wondering how to autorun PortableApps (which is installed in the main partition)from the iso partition.
can anyone help me?
That thing you found was really interesting.
From what I got, you would need to make an ISO file with the files you want, and name it cruzer-autorun.iso, then have the installer download it by some means I didn't fully understand, and then have the installer to install your ISO into the partition.
Make sure you read all the stuff in there, as there are some cautions you'll need to take.
Good luck, if i try it, I'll let you know how it went.

Click on the autolauncher4U3 link.
Download that ISO.
It looks for a file in your drive that you specify and it opens it.
Insert original signature here with Greasemonkey Script.
The url is usb.smithtech.us.
Here is some good instructions on installing your own iso to a U3 drive

I just need to try autolauncher4U3 yet.
just did it on my sd-cruzer and it passed flawlessly.
it makes one small 148kb CD partition and autostarts PA or Pstart by default from:
{usbdrive}\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu
{usbdrive}\Programs\Pstart
or any other custome path you want.
too bad there's not tutorial for how to make such *ISO files yourself. that way i could put Pstart or PA on CD partition without the need for negotiator (ofcourse for this i need pstart or pa to save their setting in diffrent location since the cd partition isn't editable.)
just saying this, you can launch PApps from seperate partitions as well as over a network, i use that so i can have 1 PADrive but use it on all of my networked comps.
