wadda I think?

...I think some nachos would be good right about now:

Fresh crispy white corn tortilla chips, seasoned ground beef, shredded sharp cheddar chs, chopped onions and tomatoes, salsa, shredded lettuce, black and/or refried beans, & some jalapeno slices to top it all off, all broiled to a toasty, tasty, gooey crispness...MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

That's what I think.

A steak- grilled over low

A steak- grilled over low heat for a couple of hours- grilled with charcol so its gets the flavor of smoke to soak in.

Maybe the big honking 1 pound version. Yeah, I can eat that! Smile

Okay, Nachoes then- with steak strips, and refried beans, and taco meat, and cheese, and meat, and cheese, and meat, and cheese.

Hm. meat and cheese.

And to drink...

How about ALE-8 to drink?

BTW- I hope you didn't mean this NACHOS. I doubt this one would taste good with meat and cheese, might be a little "shocking" to take a bite of this one...ha ha ha! (stupid corny jokes are always funny to me).

RE: "yum"...

...I motion to change 'sausage' to its proper name "Snausage"
Also, strike the olives (all colors) and 'shrooms (yechh!)
Burger is redundant in light of the 'ronis and aforementioned snausage.

Finally, let's just change the whole thing in light of the taco-ness of this thread - I motion for a wholesale change to taco pizza:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Corn tortilla crust, topped by taco meat, sharp cheddar shredded cheese, refried/black beans, chopped tomatoes/onions, jalapeno slices, and add some shredded head just after removing it from the oven.

(Footnote: "Tombstone" frozen pizza makes a 'taco pizza' variety - and it's pretty good - but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available in my area except occasionally when it's on special - at least not at the major grocery store chain I shop at.)

Yeah?...

...well I worked late tonite, stopped at my favorite little hole in the wall Mexican place on my way home, & had me a pair of tacos.

Double corn tortillas (each), filled with an enchanting seasoned ground beef mixture (I've never tasted anything quite like it, really, and I suspect it maybe has a smidge of chipotle sauce in there), chopped peppers, shredded cheddar, chopped onions & tomatoes, shredded head (lettuce), and hot sauce.

A ton of ingredients for a mere $2 each.

Haven't yet gotten around to ordering nachos there, but one of these days real soon, once I get me a paycheck or two from this new job, I'm heading for the nachos, and DON'T ANYONE GET IN MY WAY, or you WILL be INJURED!!!...

Nah...

..that steak is made of beef.

Since my bro-in-law bagged an 8-point buck recently, I rather fancy a big juicy VENISON steak.

The devil...

has nothing to do with steak or nachos:
Both are a gift of God to mankind. Don't beleive me? Check out Genesis:

(Gen 9:2-3) "The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. *Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you*. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. " (emphases mine)

Before this, man was only authorized to be a vegetarian by God; after the Flood, God ordained that mankind should eat MEAT!!!.

Beef, venison, bacon, ham, yardbird ('chicken', for us yankees), et al; it's all good.
ALL are NOW on the new & improved menu!!!...

Come, come getcha some!!!...

I know that...

I wasn't associating the devil with steak. lol

From Wikipedia:
"Speak of the devil" is an idiom or phrase used in both written and spoken English. It is used when an object of discussion (normally a person) unexpectedly becomes present during the conversation

Ok, so I slightly misused it. >.>

That is seriously up to you.

That is seriously up to you. It looks cool, but how resource intensive would it be? IMHO there isn't much point to a super fancy screensaver. The point of a screensaver is to give the monitor and the PC a rest after things have simply been running idle for a set length of time. Chances are, if the computer has been sitting idle, and the screensaver starts, you aren't near the computer, which means you wouldn't see the screensaver to begin with (except maybe the 5 seconds it takes to walk across the room and move the mouse to wake the PC up)

true...

well considering i sometimes watch tv and let the screensaver run at my computer sometimes, and the fact that itunes can play and crossfade the music with the visualization on a 400Mhz comp using less than a quarter of the cpu power, i would say that it is a good idea.

im gonna go forward with it..

and i am hungry for a giant slice of pizza.

and Have Some Patience, verry funny - way to help hijack a thread!! - BTW, i dont really care cuz nachos are good!

Actually, it's to save the screen. More specifically, it's to prevent a static image from being burned into the monitor. What gives it a "rest" is when the hard drives stop spinning and there's little activity.

Not anymore, dude...

... modern CRT monitors do not have the susceptibility to "burn in" that their ancestors had.

Therefore, nowadays screensavers are used for *decorative* purposes only.

(Unless yer using a REALLY old monitor....)

"this", "Apple"; what...?...

WTH are you even talking about here, bo-ah?...

Don't'chu pay no never-mind to the stated thread topic ; the fact is, this here thread is about NACHOS; nothing more and nothing less!...

(and btw, "apples" are not an acceptable topping/filling for nachos, as they are a fruit - only meats, dairy products, and veggies are candidates for nacho inclusion...).

EDIT:

Tonite I had me some home-made nachos.
Didn't have beef or certain other ingredients available, so it was just the (non-meat) basic elements: Tortilla chips, Shredded cheddar, salsa, and refrieds.

Taking into account the missing elements (in other words, "for what it *was*..."), them nachos was SUPERB!... I'm still getting the heartburn from 'em 6 hrs later, and it is exquisite!.

Budget buyer's hint:
----------------------
Wally World (aka, 'Wal-Mart') has some excellent White corn tortilla chips (1 lb bag!), as well as a (16 oz) jar of salsa, for $1.50 or less per unit!.
The salsa is not bad, but an even better deal is to be had:

Your nearest Aldi store (if you have any in your area - I think they might be an upstate NY regional chain) will offer you about 4 (FOUR!) varieties of salsa - incl. their excellent Chipotle and 'Southwest' varieties - for the same $1.50 or less as Wally World!...

Happy Nacho-ing!!!...

Aldi is not a NY chain!

We have one in Effingham, Illinois, and also one in central Georgia.
I prefer Krogers though. You can get a Krogers card (it isn't a credit card, just a discount card) and save yourself bunches of money.

Don't forget to get REAL cheese! Artificial is NASTY!!!
And dont forget the hot sauce!!

Most excellent...

...for the rest of y'all living outside of Upstate NY! (although I think they're HQ'ed in Batavia, NY, which is just down the Thruway from me a piece).

I'm witcha on the real cheese.
As to the hot sauce, I can't believe I forgot to mention it so far! - Thanx 4 picking up my slack!

If the beef is made

If the beef is made properly, hot sauce is not needed. With the proper mix of chilli powder and the standard packets of the dry taco seasoning, hot sauce is not needed, and salsa can be used in its place to add just a little bit extra spice, and more texture, instead of just adding a liquid that makes things soggy.

But in our family, not everyone likes spicy. I always have to add hot sauce.
(my mom thinks I am addicted to it! Wink )

Meh...

...ideally, I prefer *both* salsa AND hot sauce, along w/ the seasoned beef.
That way I get the best of all 3 worlds!
