Ok, this is pretty weird, but Thunderbird portable says that there is an unread email in my inbox, but there isn't.
It started doing this when I (accidentally) unplugged my usb drive without closing the application.
I've tried reinstalling, but it still says that there is an email in there.
So, do I have to live with a perpetual phantom email? Or is there an answer?
Thanks!
with my spam folder.but I didnt lok further into it as its not that distracting...

This means that Thunderbird and your email server are out of sync in terms of what's considered new mail. This used to happen with my local copy of Thunderbird with 1.5 often. Since I use IMAP, you can simply drop and recreate the account to have it resync the folders. For POP, you may have to delete the popstate.dat file (which will cause it to download all messages again) or manually mess with it. As this is not a portable-specific problem (this is a general Thunderbird question), you're better off asking at mozillaZine.org or poking around the knowledgebase and Google.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
OK, deleting the popstate.dat file, after reinstalling everything, seemed to work.
Thanks!
