I've posted an updater for OpenOffice.org Portable 2.3.1 that updates the included launcher to fix a bug. The current launcher has a bug that causes it to overwrite the Common.xcu file on launch which is used to save personal settings (Undo levels, etc). Please test this fix out and post your findings.

John,
Noticed you changed your Avatar.
Since I've seen the original I must say I like this one better.
It actually looks like you

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
that this Rev. 2 installer changes the language of my german OOO to english?
Just had a quick look at the new launcher code...
EDIT

I'll be posting updaters for all 4 supported languages as part of the final version.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Another idea bout the option pack: Why do I have to install it and then run it to remove the stuff? Wouldnt it be easier to just run the installer and have it remove the stuff without installing a new exe?
Why 2 steps if it can be done in one?

Because we're just testing code at the moment. And asking people to download 80MB things each time we test is a bit much.

the option pack installer is just a couple kb.
If I run it, it installes an Exe inside the OpenOfficePortable foloder that even shows up in the menu. If I run that exe ir allows me to remove the additional stuff.
So that are 2 steps (installing it and then running it).
And my suggestion was that we have only the one step instead of 2. So no "installation" and a new exe in the OpenOfficePortable foloder, just one exe, that removes the stuff and bingo.
I dont want to argue just to make it easier.

... it is only a test release.
But the idea (using a seperate exe) was to give the (advanced) user a way to run the exe more than one times in order to remove one option first, another later.
This could be changed.

Didnt think of that...
if you see it that way maybe its better the way it is now and have the exe show up in the menu and such.

Having it as a downloadable but not installed would be best (it probably shouldn't stay on the drive and show up in the menu as the user can really only use it once... to remove, not add back in). Ideally, we'll incorporate this into the main installer and maybe have a "Typical" and "Advanced" process, no? As long as we can work out the kinks with calculating drive space, updates and things of that nature. Otherwise, it will just be an advanced downloadable tool to save space but not part of the main release. Either way, let's wait til Marko gets it out tomorrow and we'll start a thread up on it and get some feedback from everybody rather than go much further off topic in here.

fine with me.
if you have it al in one is the easiest I guess but then it would be cool to have the possibility to run the installer and have it only remove the things so I can try them and if i see after a while that I dont need the help files I can remove them. But youre right, lets wait for the official thread...

Hey John, just wanted to let you know the OOo Portable installer doesn't seem to remove the AppNameSource and AppNamePortableSource folders, so maybe you can add that in this release?
