Moving Email from Portable-TB to PC-TB?

I'm going on the road for a couple of weeks, and will be using Portable Thunderbird to pick up my email, which comes through a POP server, not an IMAP server.

How do I integrate/add the mail I sent and received with Portable TB to the TB that sits on my PC?

IMAP Best

IMAP is the best way to go as it keeps your email on the server even when you use multiple email clients. I use IMAP along with Thunderbird installed on two PCs, a portable version and then a webmail client. All 3 see the same set of mail on the server.

If that's not an option for you or you prefer keeping email local, you can move the mail in your portable version into a new folder that doesn't exist in your local version. Then take that folder from ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile\mail (it'll be the folder name with no extension) and copy it to your local PC's TB profile - usually within C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Thunderbird\profiles\???????.default\mail

You can also copy mail the other way using this method.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

My ISP doesn't offer IMAP, so I have to go with a POP account Sad

I guess the ultimate question is the integration of the mail I sent and received with PortableTB with the desktop PC's Thunderbird while not wiping out what's on the desktop.
