AbiWord: Hebrew still not readable: this is a comment on a locked discussion.

There is a locked discussion here with the title of hebrew not readable.
I want to second the original poster. I believe that the reply and the original post refer to two different issues. The reply seems to refer to the ability to create an hebrew document. In contrast, the original poster refered to the menues. By that I mean places like the top level line, where one has the Hebrew equivalent of "File", "Edit", "Dispaly" and so on. For example, to open a file for editing one can click on the "File" menu option and then carry on and select the exact file to edit. So the non readable issue refer to the fact that in the Hebrew version one see something like "eliF" instead of "File", "tidE" instead of "Edit", and so on. That is, the words are written EXACTLY in the reverse order to what is expected. The Hebrew characters are those that are expected, but their order is reversed. My short experience shows that this problem is consistent every where in the app menues. It is not just the top level menu.

Abiword 2.4.5

The other two discussions were in relation to AbiWord 2.4.5 which had a bug in it which prevented Hebrew from working. I believe 2.4.6 works but only if the operating system's locale is set to Hebrew. If you're still having issues, check over on the AbiWord site as this isn't something specific to the portable version.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

You are right. I have the same issue with 2.4.6 from the AbiWord site.
