I am new to Portable applications, but love the idea. Form the site, it appears that Sunbird can be installed on either a flash drive or a PDA... is this true? Is there a way to run it on the flash drive but sync it with the PDA for access to my calendar when I am not at a PC? I currently sync Outlook with my Pocket PC, but would like to abandon Outlook for portable apps.

These are Windows applications. They do not run on Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile is a different operating system that can not run Windows apps.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I know Pocket PCs have completely different operating systems, but when I signed up for a PortableApps account, they gave me the option of selecting "USB Flash Drive" or "PDA Connected to a Computer" as my preferred portable device. I guess this means these Apps can be saved on a PDA as a file, and then run on a PC when they are connected (but don't run on the PDA).
Is there any other application that synchronizes between Sunbird/Thunderbird and a PDA (similar to ActiveSync for Outlook). Someone told me there was a for-sale program that did, which would be useful to me when I'm not near a PC and have to get to my schedule or contacts... any advice on how to be mobile?
Thanks,
Russell
