I already pushed the update-button (after backup, of course)
You'll be redirected to the Miranda-site to download the installation package.
There's a thread about upgrading older portable versions:

I didn't try, yet - but let me know if it works 'cause i'm interested in the MSN offline feature
It's quite easy to make Miranda IM 0.7 Portable....
Please note: All modifications happen at your own risk. Ensure to have a proper backup before starting. For me it works fine though i cannot guarantee, that i migrated old bugs or disabled new features with my improper way of profile-migration!
I used a VM-Ware to keep my PC clean.
1) Setup a default Installation
2) After setup create Profile (just create it, no need to configure or connect anything.)
3) Rename "%userprofile%\Application Data\Miranda" to "%userprofile%\Application Data\Profile"
(this is the folder, where the newly created profile is located)
4) Copy your current portable profile ".\MirandaPortable_unicode\MirandaPortable\Data\profiles" to the new profile folder "%userprofile%\Application Data\Profile"
(FYI: The import function messed up all my groups - but give it a try - that's most likely the prefered way)
5) Copy "%userprofile%\Application Data\Profile" to "%programfiles%\Miranda IM"
6) Go to "%programfiles%\Miranda IM" and edit mirandaboot.ini
Make the ProfileDir redirect to the newly merged Profile in your Programfolder.
looks like:
#######
;ProfileDir
;The directory to search for database files. If it's a relative path then
;it's relative to the directory containing miranda32.exe. Default is .
;You can use environment variables, so NT people may like %APPDATA%
ProfileDir=.\profile
#######
7) Copy "%programfiles%\Miranda IM" to your USB-Device and give it a try!
Have Fun!
ou can download the zip-file and extract it, without installation --> without dirt on your harddrive
Apps on my Portable Device:
Miranda, Firefox, Sunbird, Thunderbird, 7-Zip, FileZilla, GIMP, OOo, Sodoku and VLC
German User, Sorry for my bad english, I do my really really best
I did the installation and recorded it, to see if there're some important changes in other locations (%windir%; registry; ...)
I used a VM-Ware => snapshot => installation => revert .... that's it (without trash on my harddrive)
... for creating the portable app, you're probably right. I didn't think about that.
Or like the bavarians would say: G'hupft wia g'hechtlt
I found one problem. When recieving an authorisation request for yahoo, Miranda 0.7 crashes with a memory-error.
I started the Yahoo-IM, approved the request, and started Miranda, again.
Now everything works fine.
Can anyone recreate that issue?
/Edit# Btw: I tried on two PCs (home, work - WinXP-SP2 de/en)
/Edit2#: Couldn't recreate that issue - maybe it only occured once or happens, when authorisation is reqested, when user is offline. I'll let you know when I found out something.
I already updated to 0.7.1
It works, but I'm getting some problems. Here's what I did:
Open the exe inside of 7zip.
Copy all files over to their respective directories inside MirandaPortable EXCEPT for Mirandaboot.ini because you can keep your old one. The only difference between new and old is the profile directory location. Since you already have MirandaPortable, you don't need to change this.
Now, unless you are using Jabber or Gtalk, everything should work fine. I tried using Gtalk with the Jabber plugin and it doesn't work because it's looking for zlib.dll, which isn't there. Also, people have said that you need certain SSL files, which I have, but it still doesn't work. I located the most recent zlib.dll (1.2.3) and put it in the Miranda exe directory. The program loads, but then bails out. Removing zlib lets the Miranda boot, but without Avatar or Jabber support.
Anyone got ideas?
there is for long time new miranda 0.7, why there is only 0.6.8??? It is almost 9 month old
If you look, there's like thirty application to update, and one man doing a LOT of things to improve them.
would have thought that there would be shortly.
Really looking forward for an update to 0.7, because almost all of the major plug-ins require it.
Please Make TiLP Portable
I updated mirandaportable just for you
These files contain the same launcher as in mirandaportable 0.6.8, but all new files introduced in 0.7.x.
They could be installed like every other portableapp by john.
