I hope the subject is fairly self-explanatory. Essentially what I want to do is set a static ip for Firefox to resolve to given the appropriate address:
I.e. google.com --> 64.233.187.99
For specific reasons DNS will not resolve certain domains however the domain may still be reached if the IP is know. This could be placed in the host file on the computer from which FF is being ran however for certain reasons it would be much easier to have these static host name resolutions being attached to a portable Firefox.
Thanks for any help.
Firefox uses the OS for DNS resolution. And Windows uses a host file for that within the Windows directory. Nothing we can do about that portably.
The only thing I can think of that might work is an extension, but I don't know of one that does what you want.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
