As the title says, if I move FF to another location or rename the FF portable directory it does start up, but I can't do anything - links don't work and neither do menu items.
I was hoping to use the portable version on my hard drive and have the option to stick it on a USB disk for use elsewhere when required.
Is there a config file of some sort with the location I can edit?
just moving the FFPortable directory to any location should work. What exactly are you trying to do?

FWIW it's not an extension causing the problem, I've tested it without any installed.
[edit] ZGitRDun8705, exactly that - move it to a different location - and it doesn't work.
I install FF Portable, and then move it to another drive (to test the problem). It loads but as I said I can't do anything once it's open except close it.
that's odd...it could be a corrupted download. try to redownload firefox portable, install it, then move it again.

check the md5sum.

No idea how to do that, but I'll check google.
calledwinMd5Sum.
Md5 sums allow you to check the integrity of a file by createing a 32 digit sum matching only the file you created it from. All PortableApps.com Apps have their sum published on the App's website. If the one from the program doesn't match the one on the website, the file has been corrupted.

I downloaded it a couple of times to different hard drives and tested it by renaming the FFP directory as well as moving it. Every time it failed to work after changing.
The firefox.exe?
The FirefoxPortable.exe?
The FirefoxPortable folder?

Folder, so basically the same as moving it.
