The bug I pointed out a couple weeks ago with the PortableGIMP wrapper (https://portableapps.com/node/1382) also exists in PortableGAIM. Basically, it breaks a PortableSuite-Style install.
Something tells me that this bug got carried over to PortableGIMP from here...

It's a known issue. The latest release of Portable GIMP fixes it (see the front page). And the next release of Portable Gaim will address it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
