On the Winmerge page it says:
Archive file support using 7-Zip
Does Winmerge Portable also support Archives?
If not could that be done using 7Zip Portable?
Its just a suggestion for the future.

It uses it's own DLL in App/WinMerge. I haven't tested it, but it should work fine.

I just remembered running into a pop up saying something about a plugin in the past. Maybe its ok with the new version. Ill tell you if it happens again.

Seems it's not included. I'm unsure whether to include it or not, as I don't know how many people will use it.

if its just me, don't include it.
I think there are more people wanting it to be small than there are people needing that dll. If its just dropping the dll into a folder it would be enough to list it on the support page: "if this and this happens, just copy blabla.dll to App/winmerge"

It's best to include what's included in a standard release of all apps and only deviate if there's a pressing need for something from a portability standpoint. Adding things because they're popular or things you personally use shouldn't be done since everyone has different needs and preferences. The goal is to have the portable app work just like the regular one.

That's what I thought. At the moment, the App\WinMerge folder is just the ordinary zip and the extra DLLs for increased portability.
