provide as much detail as

provide as much detail as possible, it makes it easier for us to help you.

What specs does the system have, did anything unusual happen with the computer last night, is SunbirdPortable on the hard drive or on a flash drive, do you always "safely remove" the flash drive?

You don't need to answer all of those, and there may be other info that could be useful to us. Just trying to get you on the right track.

We want to help, so please provide more info so we can.

Sunbird is on a Kingston USB

Sunbird is on a Kingston USB flash drive. Nothing unusual happened last night. I havent removed the flash drive and this is the 2nd time this has happened. As for specs my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520 (XP Pro sp2, Core2Duo T5250 1.5GHZ, 2gb DDR2 667 memory)

did you check

the drive for filesystem errors?
And normally you can install a fresh copy over the old one without losing your data.
Do you have a local copy of Sunbird?

Checked for errors and there

Checked for errors and there were none found. I do not have a local copy I hate to admit. The fact that the app isnt functioning points to a reinstall but I just want to know if it will be possible to recover my data before hand or will I just have to start over.
