I just tested Winmerge on my Ubuntu 7.10 box with wine and it doesn't work.
The launcher and program start but close after a while.
Maybe someone (John, Ryan?) could update the Compytibility page???

I've not had time to test it myself, so I've no idea.
Updating the page now though.

Now, on to the actual error. I suspect that the Windows version is being reported incorrectly to the launcher, causing it to launch WinMergeU.exe. I'm not entirely sure though.

launched WinmergeU.exe
But I have no idea why.

I'm not sure that Wine has Unicode support built in, so that could be why. If this is really an issue, I can write a section into the launcher to check ForceANSI from the INI.
