I'll let you know tomorrow what I found

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

Now The Fun Stuff

You did extremely well on making everything that latest PAF standard, I'm thoroughly impressed. Biggrin There is a couple things however you can change, so tiny I don't know why I'm saying them. Blum

  • There's a Thumbs.db in Other\Source
  • We may be getting rid of the option to change the AppExecutable, and AppDirectory in the INI, but I haven't gotten confirmation, and I don't like the idea, so don't worry about that.
  • Don't forget to add your copyright in the Readme and Source.
  • You may wanna direct the PeaZip Portable support forum mentioned in the help file to the other apps forum.
  • Looks like you may have already UPX'd the 'peazip' directory, but I just did with the scripts I told Kevin and Simeon to use, and saved another half a meg.

That's it, you're too good. Blum

By chance are those "scripts" mentioned above the last link on this page?

Thanks Patrick! I basically

Thanks Patrick! I basically used a combination of 7-zip and Sumatra launchers, just changing variable values, deleting some unneeded functions and rearranging stuff. The "replace all in files" tool in Notepad++ made changing 7-Zip to PeaZip really easy lol.

Thumbs.db....those are annoying, I told my system not to cache thumbnails but it still does, sometimes...i'll delete it and reupload tonight.

OK, I wont worry about possibly removing those INI options maybe.

Good call on the copyright.

I'll change the link for the support forum for when i reupload tonight.

I didn't UPX anything on my own lol, thanks for that.

ReplaceInFile

You may want to use the ReplaceInFile code (Notepad++ launcher, say) to update the drive letters of recent files in the configuration file.

Yeah, it was quick and easy,

Yeah, it was quick and easy, I spent an hour at most working on it, and half of that was just making sure everything matched the latest PAF specs and that I didnt forget to replace "7-Zip" or "Sumatra" anywhere in the files I used, oh and changing the links in the help to point to the right place.

its not that hard, its

its not that hard, its mostly copy/paste then use the "find/replace in all files" feature of Notepad++. Then just a little bit of actually figuring out how to move files or registry entries.

Is it safe to assume, from the lack of comments about bugs, that this app is ready for go-live?

Or is there just no interest in the app?

thats about it lol....just use it. some of the more experienced users use various tools to check that nothing is left behind outside of MRU or MUICache and similar location, but i double checked and PeaZip non-portable doesnt leave anything either, so this was an easy app to do.

@ John

I think PeaZipPortable could be ready for official status. It hasn't gotten a lot of hits from what I can see, but it is widely used, and may become more popular as an official application.

Here is a high res version of the PeaZip logo. I created it to be used in a splash screen if this app went official.

haven't found problems so far

I downloaded this a while ago but never got the chance to try it out until now.

I was able to run it in Vista without any problems.

Dev Test 3 runs

without problems. Thanks for this. I like it cause it supports more formats than 7Zip (I think).
