sry about originally posting in the wrong place. still have the problem that the wallpaper is changed to just plain grey instead of my actual picture. well its changed to mybackground colour instead of wallpaper in the display options menu of windows. on my friends laptop nothin happened and her background stayed the sme as before i put in the usb, until i removed the usb safely etc, her background changed to grey also without the usb in until the computer weas restarted. it does not work at all on the university computers.
the picture is in the corect folder and called the correct thing. not sure what true bmp means but i guess its a picture which started life as a bmp and i converted it from a jpg to bmp. to do this i just changed the picture name from .jpg to .bmp, would a proper file converter tool be more appropriate?
I think the problem is that you only renamed it without actually converting it.
Try converting it properly.

alrighty yeah that did it...thx i just had to open the picture and click save as then do it as bmp.
I can't seem to get it to work. I have menu 1.1 beta 4, downloaded a picture in .bmp format and cut it into my doc/pic folder under the name portableapps_wallpaper.bmp. I've safely ejected my usb and restarted my puter?? any idea's?? should I create a folder and name it portableapps_wallpaper.bmp and place that in my pictures? or just name the picture it self?
thanks,
Ed
just name the pic that way and restart the Menu.

I must be doing something wrong. I still can't get it to work. would the dimension of the .bmp matter? It's 1024 X 768.
thanks,
Ed
I saved the picture and portableapps_wallpaper.bmp and it when it saved it was portableapps_wallpaper.bmp.bmp. I just erased one of the .bmp's and it work fine. I really like this feature. thanks to everyone who worked on it!!!!!
