Miranda: Profiles going in the wrong place.

I'm using an INI for PortableMiranda, and instead of the profile going into my designated settings folder (PortableMiranda Files\settings), they're ending up in the application folder. If I don't use the INI, this isn't a problem--the profiles go into settings. However, due to my unique directory structure, I need to use the INI. This is what my INI looks like...

[PortableMiranda]
MirandaDirectory=PortableMiranda Files\application
SettingsDirectory=PortableMiranda Files\settings
MirandaExecutable=miranda32.exe
AdditionalParameters=
WaitForMiranda=false
DisableSplashScreen=true

It's a bug

Thanks!

Yep, that did the trick. Though you may want to test the launchers more thoroughly before releasing them from now on. Smile

All tied to one issue

All those were tied to a single faulty version where I accidentally based one off an old script instead of the fixed one. Portable Miranda was in test for like 2 months... problem is that noone that uses INI files tested it out. (Very few users use the INI file option)

Ah.

When I make a program, I try to test it myself under all possible circumstances before releasing it for general testing. That's the main reason my multi-user PFF launcher (remember that?) was so stable.

I do the same

I do the same... but I accidentally regressed one just prior to release (essentially testing the good one and releasing the broken one) and inadvertently included that same issue with the other 2 apps.

Well, thanks for fixing the bug, anyway. Smile Just out of curiosity, which apps are affected by this bug? As you know, I've found it in PCW and PM so far... what's the third one?

John, you still haven't updated the main Portable Miranda download with the new launcher. I recently redownloaded it and ended up with the "profiles in the wrong place" bug again. Had to search the forums to find this thread again, so I could get the bugfix.

John, you forgot to update the launcher with 0.5. MIMP is still putting the profiles in the application directory when an INI is used. Either that or it's still checking SettingsDirectory when it should be checking ProfilesDirectory.

Argh

You're right, of course. Try this in place of the current launcher:
https://portableapps.com/downloads/MirandaPortableLauncher1211.exe

Thanks, that fixed it. Wasn't really a huge issue, but I like to keep things neat. Smile
