Probably not.

As a policy, portableapps can only portableize open-source programs (i.e. programs that you can alter and redistribute your altered version, for more info, check here). Open-Source apps allow you to alter it to make it portable, then distribute legally. MS Office is closed-source. Maybe you can do it with Ceedo, or Mojopac. If this sentence is true, MS Office Portable is Impossible... (Sorry, I wanted to apply Curry's Paradox).

I don't think it can be done with ceedo or mojopac either. It is HIGHLY registery dependent. (btw, good application of Curry's Paradox)

What I heard on Mojopac is each time you plug into a different PC it needs to be registered again. This info might be outdated by now though.

I think Ceedo uses an

I think Ceedo uses an installed version of Office (and some other Microsoft programs) with your USB-saved personal data. If Office isn't installed on the host computer, it won't be available.

But I could be wrong.

No, thank you...

WEStudio, MS Office is a Microsoft product, and is closed source.
The only one that can legally alter MS Office to be portable is Microsoft, or an approved agent of Microsoft.
You are free to ask Microsoft, but even if they do so, they will still charge hundreds of dollars for the finished product, and make you register it.

You should check out Open Office. I prefer it over Microsoft, and it is compatible with all of the most common Office Formats (*.doc, *.xls, etc). Also, it is already available here in delicious portable flavor, for free and legal.

Welcome to PortableApps.com!

You should try all of the programs here. You may find that many of your wishes have already been fulfilled!

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

But your previous requests for help imply that you don't know how to use thinstall very well, or that it dosn't work fine for you.

let me just say this...

MS Office (Any Version) portable, NO!

first off it would result in an annoying legal situation that no one wants to get in.

2, you have to pay for it.

3, it isnt open source and we can only make Open Source apps portable

4, open office rocks and i belive that they have been working on or have already solved the .Docx format problem.

(BTW, i cant remember if it is .docx or .doxc)

docx will be added in the

docx will be added in the 3.0 version, scheduled to release in September 2008. That feature, code cleanup, and performance improvements are the top priorities for that release. Some variants of OpenOffice.org have limited docx support. OxygenOffice Professional, NeoOffice, and Novell OpenOffice.org are the ones currently listed in the OO.o wiki.

and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin
