I made a launcher for Recuva.
Recuva is an open source file recovery program made by Piriform.com You can download it here
I will do a portable version of Defraggler and CCleaner in a day or two if this one goes smoothly. Please feel free to yell at me if I'm doing anything wrong or if you know of a better way to do something (I'm new and stupied :P).
Edit:Okay I fixed the download link.
for download i need login data!!!

Ah I'll ask Patrick what I did wrong. It's his web hosting. (I guess I'm not sure how to link to the files.)

What are you using for the web hosting? (not the actual hosting, I mean the software that does user accounts and such)
For online file management, they use eXtplorer (Joomla! extension, can be used standalone) and I like PHP File Navigator as well (on SourceForge).
Is that what you mean?
Where do you gather it's open source? I don't see their source anywhere.
Oops I was under the impression it was Opensource I guess I'll just wait till we can do freeware stuff.

The link should be http://nascent-project.org/%USERNAME%/%FILENAME%. And I'm pretty sure that it's not OpenSource.

Once freeware apps are allowed on this site this looks like a great candidate for posting. Point being...don't give up on the portable app. Bide your time and we'll welcome you back with open arms once freeware is "allowed".

In the meantime, you can provide the launcher+source and instructions on how to download and setup the app.
If you go to the alternate downloads of their products you will see portable versions.
CCleaner has an option to save things to an ini file rather than the registry (which is default in the portable version).
I would say these dont need to be messed with (even if they were open source)
i have repack Recuva in the paf format (i hope that have the real structure):
Here is my Installer:
1. Download and install the launcher
2. download the latest version of Recuva (v1.10.223)
3. Extract the downloaded "rcsetup110.exe" with 7Zip to path of your choise
4. Copy or cut the extracted file "recuva.exe" (only this file) to X:\PortableApps\RecuvaPortable\App\Recuva
5. Enjoy!!!

Looks good.
I don't know if it's been mentioned that it seems to want administrator privileges. Which is not too surprising, given what it does.

I found someone who want to make Ccleaner Portable !!!
I've made launchers for each I'll just wait till it's appropriate to release them here. However if anyone is interested in any of them I will email the launchers to you in the mean time. Just email me at jacobm001 at gmail .com

What is the point of making launchers for these programs, they're already portable?
yes its portable but not realy, programs like recuva leave registration entries or other stuff on the host computer. the launcher not only start and stop the programs it clean up the registry and other files ,too.

Sorry for my lousy English!!!
I downloaded the most recent version of Recuva from the website, went into the options and checked the box that says "save settings to ini file" and I haven't had any registry entries left. There is the same option in CCleaner with the same results. So these two programs are already portable unless I'm missing something.
ups realy???? i heavent saw this option, my mistake.
but...... mhhhhh...
.... with the launcher looks like better ;-P

EDIT: my recuva launcher included a many of languages files or i have overlook it in the orignal installer ,too???

Sorry for my lousy English!!!
I'm pretty sure there were language files that were installed with mine as well, but I just deleted them and it works fine. I think it defaults to english, but I'm not entirely sure. The only files I have left are recuva.exe recuva.ini unicows.dll and License.txt. Everything runs fine with just those files and I haven't noticed it to leave any files behind.
Have you tried downloading the portable versions from the website rather than the default download? Then see if they leave anything lying about.
Portable recuva is at http://www.recuva.com/download/builds
Portable CCleaner is at http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
i have test it,
when you download the recuva portable version from the official page then you MUST set on first start the "save settings to ini file" for nothing leaving on host PC.

The launcher I made was for 1.09 I wasn't aware of the 1.10 release. Defraggler also leaves behind some reg keys.
