This new filezilla does not accept my old settings, moreover overwrited it.

I followed the instructions (filezilla didn't created the old folder so I did it and saved a filezilla.xml from my backup). Did the Import stuff and when I closed the App and load it again, it shows an error again and loaded the basic settings, overwriting my settings again... ¬¬

I think I'm going back to my old filezilla portable, it was way better... grgrgrgr

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

The instructions say that the settings will be saved here:
X:\PortableApps\FileZillaPortable\Data\settings\old\FileZilla2.xml

When I updated, it put my old settings here instead:
X:\PortableApps\FileZillaPortable\App\FileZilla.xml.

It imported the site name, FTP server info, user names, and passwords.

I took the precaution of copying my whole old FileZilla folder to a temporary location, and I'm glad I did: the update did not remember a bunch of stuff, so I had to re-open the old one and manually transcribe the default folders info.

One (sort of) plus: the sitemanager.xml file, when opened up, shows the actual unencrypted passwords!
It was a "plus" for me because I am managing a website for some disorganized artists, and I lost the original napkin with their password - I was able to use FileZilla 2.x because it remembered it, but it was encrypted. Now I've got it.
Good news for my problem, but this might be a cause for concern if you lose your stick...

for me too, I run a website and since the password was provider by the ISP I don´t remember it and it´s stored on my Portable Filezilla... Blum

It was no problem to import my settings from the old version.
In the new version 3.0.6 they are stored correctly. When I close
the application and open it again they are still there.
But when I enter the portnumber, e.g. 21, in the settings, this
is not stored. If I click on another connection in the settings,
and go back to the previous one (where I entered the portnumber)
it is gone. When I look into the sitemanager.xml it is stored!
And ok, despite of this, it is working ok!
