Well, if you search

Well, if you search sourceforge, you may find it.
If you search portable on sourceforge, you get portable apps for mac.

There are a few

Actually, there are several projects that are making a Linux-on-a-stick. They range from using 128MB of space, providing sufficient functionality for command-line tasks, to entire Distro implementation on the USB using 1.3++ Gigs. Although, I haven't tested any yet.

Klik looks nice too.

EDIT: I'm thinking twice whether I would reformat my stick again... i've reformatted it more than 5x since having bought it a week ago. lol But I'm looking forward to trying some out by next week...

This is the one....

I found this a few weeks ago and seems to work well:

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

...there is always DSL, or if you have the space, DSL-N

Pendrive is the way

I have been using pendrive linux tutorials for about a year now and the site rocks. Knoppix and ubuntu710 are great on USB. I will have to try out PCLOS Minime and MCNlinux when I get a chance. What I would really like to see is a Qemu like PortableApps linux distribution that I can start from the PortableApps menu and access a local machine via terminal, but that might be a whole 'nother project.

Pendrive is the way...indeed

You can use Qemu Persistent SLAX Linux or Qemu Persistent knoppix in the PortableApps menu, the only thing you have to do is make a .EXE from the .BAT using a bath converter

QEMU

is coming, but not until after all of the current apps are updated I would expect.

What about

What about the possibility of running linux off a pendrive in a virtual format (within another OS, like windows) as the Mac-On-Stick program, which emulates the Classic Mac OS within another OS. This would be cool.

Still, it would be real nice to have Linux Portable on our favorite site...
