Autorun.inf - Yes I read the topics

I have read the other topics and I still can't get it to work, currently I have:

[Autorun]
UseAutoPlay=1
Open=.\AutoRun.exe
icon=StartPortableApps.exe
Label=Keith's Flash Drive
Action=Start PortableApps

It works, because it's renamed to Keith's Flash Drive, but it still doesn't load the application.

Got any ideas?

Quite Simplye

with Autorun.inf files, i believe that . means up a level,a nd since your in the root dir, thus making the path invalid. just get rid of the .
As for the menu, maybe there should be something that can change the name of the drive ...

Insert original signature here with Greasemonkey Script.

There are a whole bunch of

There are a whole bunch of different things that you can try, have you tried them all? You can find references to most of them at the FAQ.

There can be a number of different things that keep autoplay from working, including security settings.

Can you right click on the drive in My Computer and see Autorun as a choice?

Silly question, but is there a file called autorun.exe in the same directory as the autorun.inf? If it is in another directory or doesn't exist, that would explain why nothing is happening.

You could try different combinations, like

Open=Autorun.exe

You could also try

Open=StartPortableApps.exe

... if there is a file there with that name.

When you say "it doesn't work"

Could you tell us what you are expecting to happen, and what is actually happening?

Because normal behaviour, for a system configured as you describe, would be to NOT run anything when you plug the drive in, but to include the app that you specify in the autoplay popup window.

I have gotten it to work! I looked at the FAQ and it told me how to fix it and it worked. I didn't even know there was a FAQ. Thanks!
