Unfortunately

its illegal to do that. Winamp´s license doesn't allow it.

Next time, please use the search function in the top right corner as this has been requested before. And you should know that it would be nice if you´d provide some more info as it makes it easier for us to answer your question.

In addition ...

to what Simeon mentioned,
Could you edit your post, you have that ability, and change the Subject to make it clear what app you are asking about,
i.e. Change "a new portable app" to something like "Request for Winamp Portable" or, if Simeon has addressed your question sufficiently, you could delete the whole post, you have that ability as well in the edit function.

Thanks,
Tim

Winamp's license might not

Winamp's license might not allow JTH to repackage Winamp as part of the PortableApps Suite, but I don't think there is anything in Winamp's license that would keep a person from installing it to the removable drive and seeing what it would take to make it portable. IANAL, but I think Nullsoft/AOL wants you to download Winamp from their site and agree to the license; otherwise you can install it anywhere you want. I think I've seen notes online from other people who have installed it to a removable drive and found ways to make it work.

It might be better if the OP could try one of the Open Source products, but if s/he wants to use Winamp, that should be okay too.

Use CoolPlayer instead

It works with WinAmp's addons

VLC Media Player

A new version released right here at portableapps.com:

https://portableapps.com/news/2008-02-29_-_vlc_portable_0.8.6e

It plays the same file types as Winamp*, and it's skinnable (albeit that is sometimes tricky), but it's Open Source, and it's here!

*As a matter of fact, VLC plays a huge number of file types, both audio and video. Aside from being able to play audio files, it can play DVDs on systems that do not have a DVD decoder installed (like all W2K installs!). I use it to play DVDs from other regions - my German-bought DVDs won't work in my American DVD-player, but they play great in VLC.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
