Help with Pstart remembering drive letters

Hello,

I use pstart but noticed that it is not really 100% portable like some apps are.
By that I mean when I change from say my home pc to my office pc, I have to edit the config every time and let it find the current drive letter for my usb key.
At home my drive is G: but at work it is M: because of more network drivers, TS drives etc. Is there some way to get PSTart to automatically update the USB drive letter automatically without user intervention?

Thanks, Fletch

Did you do the portable

Did you do the portable install to usb or local install to usb with uninstall support when you put it on your drive. The portable install uses relative paths so that wouldn't happen.

I have the "u3" version, but

I have the "u3" version, but I belive the actual exec came from a local install. I went to their site and found that I should not be having this problem as what i wanted was one of it's "selling" features. I tried manually removing the drive letter and saving it. I can't tell for sure until monday but it appears this might work. If you let Pstart select the path to the exec it will screw up and assign a drive letter. So while this is a bug in the software, it is one that is easy to overcome, or so it appears. Maybe this will help anyone else that it running to this problem.

Download pStart, run the

Download pStart, run the install and select "USB Drive" or whatever from the menu. You don't need to use the U3 version as the installer makes it completely portable anyway.

Just run the installer again with your usb stick in the computer and all will be well.
