Portable Firefox 1.5.0.2 has been released. Portable Firefox is the popular Mozilla Firefox web browser packaged with a PortableApps Launcher as a portable app, so you can take your bookmarks, extensions and saved passwords with you. New in this version is:
- Update to Firefox 1.5.0.2
- New self-extracting package download (only 5MB)
- New App/Data internal directories for easy backups
- New localization instructions so you can use PFF in your own language
Get it from the Portable Firefox homepage at PortableApps.com.

Yay! New Self Extractor was flawless. Everything works the same, and the new directory structure made it easier to restore my bookmarks, plugins and extensions.

PTB 1.5.0.2
A test version will be posted in the beta forum today. Just for site users to check out before a general release to ensure all the bugs have been squashed. (test release)
Heh. You know you can count
Heh. You know you can count on ME for that.
Highly Appreciate Portable Firefox
It's stable, but I have just used it for 2 days.
After importing all my bookmarks from IE and Opera (it's very easy to achieve in Firefox), I do not need to backup the config and bookmarks before re-installing Windows.
Also, the bookmarks and browser config become "portable" now. I can use it at anywhere.
Thanks very much for the work done by Firefox and Portableapps development team.
What if I already updated?
If Firefox updated itself to 1.5.0.2, is there a need to install this portableapp version? Did my portableapp lose its portable-goodness when its built-in updater took over?
No
No, auto-update works fine. 1502 introduced a few new features. And 1503 will fix a couple bugs in the launcher, though, so it may be a good idea to upgrade.
two things:
1. please search before asking, this has been answered many times
2. please don't ask support questions as comments to front-page stories. there's a support forum for this stuff.
