Which formats specifically? The best format for document exchange is RTF. If you tried exporting as RTF and WordPerfect failed to open the file, AbiWord's emitted RTF may be buggy (or there's an import bug with WordPerfect, but that seems less likely). If you think this is the case, please file a bug at http://bugzilla.abisource.com/. Thanks.
I tried using several formats inclucing rtf, word, text and it will not recgonize any to them
If you saved to txt in AbiWord and WordPerfect couldn't open it, then something is wrong with your copy of WordPerfect.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I will reload my Wordperfect and double check the filters. Do you know where i can get update Wordperfect filters?
Wordperfect will open text files save in portable abiword but no other extensions, am i missing a specific download
Have you tried a local install of AbiWord? Does it have the same issue? If so, you're out of luck.

I use AbiWord 2.4.4 for all sorts of word processing and then save each file in AbiWord .abw, in addition to other multiple formats which include WordPerfect .wpd & .wp, RichTextFormat (for old apps) .rtf, and DOS text .txt. AbiWord 2.4.4 reads all of these formats. WordPerfect, on the other hand, reads and writes .wp and wpd, of course, as well as .txt and .rtf. So, given those capacities, AbiWord will work with WordPerfect, and vice versa.

See if Notepad will open text files. If it will, Wordperfect is messed up.
