I've noticed, that the cache settings on my firefox reset sometimes. i don't know why this actually happens, i just notice it when there isn't much space available on my usb key. then i switch it back either to zero or to 2MB. but that doesn't seem to help since it keeps resetting. how can i fix this?!

Be sure you're allowing FF to exit before removing the key. That's the only thing that would cause this (or something related like file corruption)
